About Emily

LMSW (she/her)

Hi! My name is Emily, and I am a licensed clinical social worker currently offering virtual psychotherapy services to individuals (18+) and couples based in New York.

I am dedicated to creating an affirming and inclusive space for clients from all backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultures.

With my calm and compassionate demeanor, empathetic listening, and holistic approach to therapy, I strive to cultivate a warm and judgment-free therapeutic environment where you will feel comfortable, safe, and heard.

My Approach

I integrate a diverse range of therapeutic tools, modalities, and techniques, including CBT, psychodynamic, motivational interviewing, strengths-based, and person-centered perspectives. With a trauma-informed lens, we will collaborate to understand how your past experiences have shaped, and continue to shape, who you are and how they inform your life and relationships.

Therapy Modalities and Approaches:
Psychodynamic therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Motivational interviewing
Mindfulness
Couples therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
Strength-based
Attachment-based
Trauma-focused

My objective is to provide an empathetic and validating atmosphere for you to share and reflect on any thoughts and feelings you are experiencing. My style is honest, open, and collaborative, and our work together will be tailored and adjusted to meet your unique needs and goals.

In particular, I am committed to working with you to build confidence, self-esteem, and greater comfort in who you are, while setting boundaries with others that allow you to best connect with yourself. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, so my role will be to listen, understand, and help you make connections. I will be your partner in helping you build your confidence to make positive changes in your life moving forward.

I look forward to supporting you as we explore the roots of your behaviors and negative emotions and identify coping strategies that will highlight your strengths, quiet your inner critic, and improve your self-esteem.
